Kalamaki Beach

Kalamaki Beach is astonishing – and that’s not something we say, but the sea turtles seem to agree on as well! All tourist guides for Kalamaki will tell you how you should respect the nesting ground of the sea turtles and let them reproduce in peace. As a protected area, there are restrictions on tourist activities, such as closing the beach to visitors at night (that’s when turtles lay their eggs in the sand) and limiting water sports activities.

The beach is only partially organized, with some areas having sunbeds and umbrellas. Even so, there is plenty of space to swim and take in the beauty of the sea. Sandy and shallow, the beach is perfect for families with young children, toddlers, and babies. Thanks to the warm waters, you can spend your days relaxing, playing, and swimming. Since it is also far quieter than its sister beach, Laganas, many people choose it for its gentler feel.
